Case Study

63 Leaders. Six Months. One Stronger Leadership Culture.

An organization approached Still Standing in Heels Consulting with a vision that went beyond the typical leadership development training program. Their goal was to cultivate a stronger leadership pipeline, enhance communication across departments, groom current and future leaders—including women in leadership—and foster a workplace where employees felt more confident, connected, and prepared to advance in their careers. Over six months, we collaborated with a diverse group of 63 leaders at various levels, understanding that effective leadership manifests differently depending on individual styles, roles, responsibilities, and career stages. Our tailored leadership development and corporate training program was crafted around the organization’s people, workplace challenges, culture, and long-term objectives.

This comprehensive six-month program encompassed development for executives and senior leaders, department and team leaders, high-potential and emerging leaders, as well as new and first-time managers. The training and coaching emphasized critical areas such as executive presence and confidence, leadership communication, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, navigating difficult conversations, providing feedback, relationship building, accountability, collaboration, and career development. Participants acquired skills to communicate with greater credibility and influence, appreciate diverse communication and leadership styles, foster relationships across teams, and transition from basic management to strategic leadership.

Instead of relying on one-size-fits-all training, Still Standing in Heels delivered practical development experiences that participants could readily apply to real workplace scenarios.

By the end of the six-month leadership training and professional development initiative, the organization observed significant, measurable results. Participants reported feeling more confident, empowered, and better connected with their colleagues, as well as more effective in their roles. Notably, 35% felt prepared for their next career advancement, and 20% were presented with career advancement opportunities during the engagement. Even more strikingly, 98% of participants conveyed feeling happier at work, alongside improvements in workplace harmony, communication, collaboration, and relationships with colleagues. The organization wasn’t merely fostering individual managers—it was cultivating a stronger, more engaged leadership culture.

This case study illustrates how intentional corporate leadership training, executive coaching, and women in leadership initiatives can positively impact an organization. Whether a company needs to develop one leader, a group of 63 leaders, or build an entire leadership team, Still Standing in Heels Consulting crafts customized leadership development experiences designed to empower today’s leaders while paving the way for the leaders of tomorrow.

7 Leadership Facts Every Executive & Business Leader Should Know

Strong leadership directly affects retention. Employees are far more likely to stay when they trust their manager, feel valued, and see opportunities for growth. In the context of women in leadership, emotional intelligence serves as an executive advantage. Leaders who can recognize emotions, manage reactions, and understand others are better equipped to navigate conflict, change, and high-pressure decisions. Executive presence goes beyond mere confidence; it encompasses how leaders communicate, listen, make decisions, handle pressure, and foster confidence in those around them. The best executives don't have all the answers; instead, effective leaders ask better questions, seek diverse perspectives, and surround themselves with individuals whose strengths complement their own. Additionally, company culture is shaped by what leadership tolerates. Employees pay attention to what executives reward, ignore, address, and model—not just what appears in the company values statement. As leadership responsibility increases, communication becomes increasingly important. Executives must translate strategy into clear priorities so employees comprehend not only what they are doing but also why it matters. Finally, leadership development shouldn't stop when someone reaches the executive level. CEOs, senior executives, and experienced business leaders, including women in leadership roles, can still benefit significantly from executive coaching, outside perspective, feedback, and ongoing development.
